Zibellini Flea Fur
Zibellini Flea Fur
You may be wondering "What the heck is a zibellini or "flea fur?" Zibellinis were a popular accessory item for noble men & ladies (see pic of Queen Elizabeth) during the 15th and 16th centuries. The head and sometimes feet were often decorated with gold filigree and set with jewels.  They are known as "flea-furs" for they were believed to attract the fleas away from one's person!

The pictured flea fur is adorned with antique brass medallions (2 front / 2 back) with pearl detailing & accents. Attached at the top mid-back is a brass decorative piece with a metallic-gold & burgundy velvet ribbon-loop to attach to ones belt or wrist.

These flea furs are also available with pewter medallions & your choice of metallic trim (silver or gold) & velvet ribbon (burgundy, black, forest green or ivory).

ALL ORDERS ARE CUSTOM MADE TO ORDER, upon receipt of payment. Depending on the current demand, they may take 2 - 3 weeks to ship
